Ramayana Short Story

 

Ramayana is an ancient Hindu Purana written by Maharishi Valmiki in the Sanskrit language its story about Lord Ram & Devi Sita. Lord Ram is incarnated by Lord Narayan & Devi Sita is a manifestation of Devi Lakshmi. Lord Ram was born in Ayodhya, his father was Dashrath who was the king of Ayodhya kingdom & Devi Sita was born in Mithila, his father was Janaka who was the king of Mithila kingdom.

There is an interesting story behind Lord Rama's birth.

King Dashrath had three wives but he didn't have any children for many years, later on, Sage Vasishta advised him to perform fire sacrifice so that he can get the boon from the gods.

Lord Rama's completed his education at Gurukul with his brother were scholars in Vedic knowledge and Knowledge of weapons in battlefields.

Once upon a time, Maharishi Vishwamitra was performing the Yagna but demons were putting obstacles on Puja. Then Maharishi Vishwamitra decided to take help from King Dasharath so he visited Ayodhya, King Dasharath was happy to see Maharishi Vishwamitra than he asked how can I help you. Maharishi Vishwamitra explains the whole story to King Dasharath later he requests to send Lord Ram and Lakshman with me for protection against demons. But King Dasharath was not happy according to him they are too young they can't fight with Demons instead I will come with you. But Maharishi Vishwamitra becomes angry you can't fulfill your promise later King Dasharath expects your request then Maharishi Vishwamitra told Lord Ram and Lakshman is not the ordinary human being later King Dasharath sent Ram & Lakshman to with Maharishi. While traveling in forest Lord Ram killed the demoness Taraka.

Later, they reach destiny where Maharishi Vishwamitra will perform the Yagna. Lord Ram and Lakshman start protecting the Yagna Rishi started the Yagna later demons came to attack but Lord Ram and Lakshman killed the demons and successfully complete the Yagna.

Then they travel to Mithila while traveling to Mithila they visited Maharishi Gautama Ashrama, Maharishi Vishwamitra told the story of Ahalya, wife of Gautama Rishi. Devaraj Indra as taking the form of Gautama Rishi and visit the house when Gautama Rishi was going to bath at Brahma Muhurta near Lake. But Gautama Rishi caught Devaraj Indra. He crushed both Devaraj Indra and Ahalya. After the crush Ahalya becomes Rock but she apologizes to Gautama Rishi when Lord Narayan will take Avatar as Lord Ram and will be visiting at this ashram and will give you Mukti by touching the Rock by feet. Later Lord Ram touches his feet and gives her Mukti she got her old form.

After giving Mukti to Ahalya, Rishi Vishwamitra along with Lord Ram and Lakshman they reached the Mithila. When King Janaka know that Maharishi Vishwamitra visited Mithila, he invited them to join Swayamvar of Sita.

Later, Maharishi Vishwamitra, Lord Ram and Lakshman reached the court of King Janaka. In Swayamvar all King as visited and try to lift and string the Shiva Dhanush but nobody even lifts the Dhanush then Lord Ram lift and string the Dhanush then Devi Sita marries to Lord Ram.

The other three sisters of Sita marry Lord Ram brothers.

After some time King Dasharath decided to make Lord Ram crown prince of Ayodhya and people of Ayodhya was a very happy they start to celebrate but Manthara was not happy with the decision of king but she convinced the Queen Kaikeyi Bharat should be the crown prince of Ayodhya and send Lord Ram to exile for 14 years by using the two pending promise which King was given to you during Devas and Asuras battle you rescue the life of King he as given two boons. Later she asks two boons to King one is Bharat should be the crown prince of Ayodhya and the second boon is Ram should exile for 14 years.  Raghukula has the slogan of Raghupati Reet Sada Chali Aayi Pran Jaye Par Vachan Na Jaye to fulfill the promise of the father has given to her step-mother Kaikeyi. Lord Ram decided to went forest for 14 years but while going to forest Devi Sita and Lakshman decided to travel for the forest with Lord Ram but avail they travel to forest King Dasharath also left his soul.

During that time Bharat was not in Ayodhya he and Shatrughan went to Kaikeyi Pradesh. When they came back to Ayodhya and Bharat got the news he was very furious and he went to the forest with all minister, guru & people to bring back Lord Ram. But Lord Ram refused to return, back to Ayodhya, he will fulfill the promise of father's behalf of me you will take care of Ayodhya, later completing the 14 years exile I will return to Ayodhya, accept the throne. Bharat returned with Lord Ram Sandals, placed them on the throne himself live like a forest dweller in Ayodhya, start ruling in the name of Ram.

While traveling to the forest they visit Pragya, Chitrakut, Dandakaranya, even they meet Rishi (Sage) and Siddha Purusha. They even got special dharma knowledge, special powerful weapons, killed powerful demons, and finally, they reach Panchayati was Devi Sita was kidnapped by Ravana and brought to Lanka Nagari.

Rama and Lakshmana start wandering the Devi Sita while searching they meet Sabari; she is a devotee of Lord Ram she explained the route of Kishkindha, a mountain range where they meet Lord Hanuman, Sugriva, Jamavat & Vanara Army. Lord Ram killed Vanara Raj Bali who captures the wife of Sugriva. Lord Ram declared Sugriva King of Kishkindha, he sends is Vanara Army to a search of Devi Sita. Finally, Lord Hanuman finds the location of Devi Sita in Lanka, he meets Devi Sita, given the message of Lord Ram they will soon arrive at Lanka with Varna Army. After knowing the location of Devi Sita, they arrive with Varna Army to Lanka when they reach Rameswaram Lord Ram perform Puja of Shiva Lingaa and Lord Shiva impressed with Lord Ram this Shiva Lingaa will know as Rameswaram Jyotirlinga. Lord Ram built Ram-Setu with the help of Nar-Nele and the Varna Army to reach Lanka. After reaching Lanka battle began Ravana has lost all-powerful warrior, Son, even Kumbh Karan, Indrajit and finally, Ravana himself came in Battlefield Lord Ram killed him. After the war Lord Ram, Devi Sita, Lakshman, Sugriva, Lord Hanuman, Angad, Vibhishana and Jamavat arrive at Ayodhya in (Pushpak Viman). People of Ayodhya start the celebration.
